		<description>Consider hosting your backup mail server off site.  It is handy to have the secondary mailer in a different location in case it is you link that goes down.  That way, whether it is your machine that died, a dos attack, or you link just dies your mail will continue to queue up in your offsite backup mail server.

Depending on the size of your inbound mail every day, a cheap VPS usually will do the trick.   If you receive large volumes of mail, you may require the disk space of a dedicated server.  Either way, it shouldn&#039;t cost much to have the piece of mind that comes with redundancy.
