		<description>You don&#039;t seem to mention whether the file slack is wiped and/or shredded? something that BCwipe does do, so can shredit wipe the file slack area as well.

Re file space, I have noticed on USB devices that when you delete files etc, until you empty whatever is put in the Trash the space does not become available. I suspect the same thing happens with HDD space too.</description>

		<description>If you delete it and it doesn&#039;t make the space available, then I would be concerned soemthing was wrong with your drive.  You don&#039;t need to do Erase, nor even wipe free space.  I woudl run and repair and see what comes back. Hope this helps.</description>

		<description>Will this then show the free space?  I deleted about 400 GB worth of files off my external hard drive but it doesn&#039;t show as free space.  I know if I use Erase in disk utility it frees all the space, but there&#039;s still stuff on the external hard drive I don&#039;t want to delete.</description>
