Acme Made, The Best Laptop Bags for Christmas & Beyond!
Having purchased my first 17″ Apple Powerbook back in 2003, I decided to buy a suitable bag for it at the same time. In perusing the available options I ended up buying a great looking bag from a startup company in San Francisco, namely Acme Made. The fact that I am still using the exact same laptop bag now, in 2008 that I purchased some 5 years ago, is testament to the quality of the bag and its build.
A Laptop Bag Well Travelled
The bag itself has traveled around the world with me, doing many a trans-Atlantic trip, as well as across Asia, being bashed from pillar-to-post but consistently retaining its sparkling sheen and solid shape. The zippers continue remain intact and are still more than capable of keeping the water out when it decides to bucket down, without notice, in London, Paris or New York.
Despite my initial reservations that the slimline side pocket wouldn’t be enough to hold the hefty Apple power adapter, it has rarely been a problem, merely carrying it, in-hand, at the same time. With that being said, the leather handles remain flexible and steadfast, and haven’t missed a days use despite the shoulder strap which came with the bag, but which I have never used. Alas, the only thing this cannot do is make a hefty laptop lighter, but it makes the task of doing so alot easier for sure.
What else is there to say? Well overall I have been exceedingly happy with my bag and not once have I been annoyed with it, bar, perhaps, for the fact that it has the propensity to nick off the pudgy little feet/pads that sit on the underside of mac Laptop. That aside, all is just peachy keen in “laptop bag land”.
Still the Best Available Option
Without any hesitation, I continue to recommend the Acme Made bags to friends and family, at the expense of all others and totally swear by them. My original purchase has yet to let me down, and though the slim and designer slim are on the pricey side, the money is most definitely well spent. When you spend several thousand dollars on a laptop, you want to ensure that your prize asset is fully protected and these bags most certainly do that, with their quilted cushion interior and seemingly bullet-proof exterior they withstand almost anything.
And the best thing about the Acme Made Bags? They look amazing. Both timeless and elegant. Most certainly not your standard laptop carrying case.
